Our View

The largest private house of Tudor England, almost entirely destroyed by Parliamentary forces during a two-year siege ending in 1645. Built on the site of a Norman castle in 1530, the ruins include a 300ft long tunnel. See exhibitions and a sound and light show in the new visitor centre or enjoy a varied programme of events throughout the year. (Please note: Sat Nav postcode for car park is RG24 8AE.)
