Our View

In a previous life, the 17th-century Bolingey Inn was reputedly a count house for the vicinity’s mines; doubtless the money men would have appreciated ale on tap without needing to leave the building. ‘More landlords than can be researched’, the menu tells us, have served here since its change of use, some making structural changes during their tenure. Today the Bolingey charms its clients with its atmosphere, serves four bitters from the likes of Sharp’s and Fuller’s, and prepares good home-cooked dishes in the kitchen. Most ingredients are sourced locally, with the specials board listing fresh fish options. Beer festival in April.
