Our View
The Canton Arms can be found midway between Stockwell and Vauxhall tube stations. Pavement trestle tables are much sought after on summers’ evenings by office workers refreshing themselves at the end of the day. The pub’s interior is typical of its kind, with dark walls, mismatched furniture and well-trodden floorboards. Pints of Timothy Taylor Landlord and Skinner’s Betty Stogs are dispensed at the darkwood bar. Chalkboards abound, displaying everything from snacks to specials. Head for the restaurant at the back for a meal of smoked eel, pickled beetroot, mustard and watercress, followed by smoked rare breed pork chop, purple hispi and green sauce.
