- Follows government and industry guidelines for COVID-19

We are taking many additional measures as detailed in the risk assessment and in the "bespoke measures" document provided. For example, rooms have been reduced from eight to five to enable us to cope with the added cleaning protocols required, properly greet guest arrivals without their having to go through a reception area and reduce tables in the dining room to strictly adhere to the social distancing measures we are following. We serve breakfast only - dinner is not available. Wrapped crockery and cutlery will be in all rooms to facilitate guest use of take aways in the evening.
Our Inspector's view
Part of the Chatsworth Estates at Shottle, Dannah Farm Country House is an impressive Georgian house in an elevated position with stunning views. A number of outbuildings have been renovated to provide luxurious, individually-styled boutique accommodation. Three of the suites have their own private hot tubs, two of which have saunas, and there's a beautiful 'Secret Garden' set in a stunning secluded garden area which boasts a changing pod and private hot tub which can be booked with any of the rooms. The elegant dining room is the setting for memorable breakfasts which make use of the finest local produce - a great way to start the day. Surrounded by lovely unspoilt countryside, Dannah Farm is a perfect place to relax and unwind.

About the area
Discover Derbyshire
The natural features of this central English county range from the modest heights of the Peak District National Park, where Kinder Scout stands at 2,088 ft (636 m), to the depths of its remarkable underground caverns, floodlit to reveal exquisite Blue John stone. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the High Peak Trail which extends from the Derwent Valley to the limestone plateau near Buxton, and for many, the spectacular scenery is what draws them to the area.
The county is well endowed with stately homes – most notably Chatsworth, the palatial home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, with its outstanding collections of paintings, statuary and art. Other gems include the well preserved medieval Haddon Hall, the Elizabethan Hardwick Hall, and Kedleston Hall, whose entrance front has been described as the grandest Palladian façade in Britain.
The spa town of Matlock is the county’s administrative centre and other major towns of interest include Derby and the old coal mining town of Chesterfield, with its crooked spire. Around the villages of Derbyshire, look out for the ancient tradition of well dressing, the decorating of springs and wells – the precious sources of life-sustaining water – with pictures formed from flowers.
