Franklins Apartments offer a choice of individually designed apartments with sumptuous soft furnishings. There are studios with four-poster, king-sized beds, free-standing baths and riverside views; one-bedroom apartments with original vaulted ceilings, and maisonette accommodation over two floors with a free-standing bath. Each of the apartments has its own private bathroom (with bath and/or shower) and fitted kitchens equipped with all the appliances guests will need for a comfortable stay. Bottle of Champagne and welcome basket of local goodies on arrival.

It was capital of the British province under the Romans in AD 71, a Viking settlement in the 10th century, and in the Middle Ages its prosperity depended on the wool trade. Its city walls date from the 14th century and are among the finest in Europe. However, the gothic Minster, built between 1220 and 1470, is York’s crowning glory.
