The Halzephron Inn
“Stunning views and lots of local seafood on the menu” - AA Inspector
GUNWALLOE, CORNWALL & ISLES OF SCILLY
The name of the inn derives from Als Yfferin, old Cornish for ‘Cliffs of Hell’, an appropriate description for this hazardous stretch of Atlantic coastline. Located high above Gunwalloe Fishing Cove, this 500-year-old, rugged stone inn commands an enviable position, with breathtaking views across Mount’s Bay. On sunny days grab a front bench and enjoy a pint of Sharp's Doom Bar while looking out to St Michael’s Mount. The two interconnecting bars feature cosy log fires, fishing memorabilia, and watercolours of local scenes. The à la carte and daily changing specials utilise the best Cornish produce available, including fresh seafood. Everything is home made, with the likes of Cornish seafood chowder; and breaded brie with a Cumberland dipping sauce. Main courses include white crab in a thermidor sauce, baked with cheese; steak and ale pie; and medallions of pork fillet, black pudding in a garlic and rosemary sauce.

Discover Cornwall & Isles of Scilly
Cornwall has just about everything – wild moorland landscapes, glorious river valley scenery, picturesque villages and miles of breathtaking coastline. With more than 80 surfing spots, there are plenty of sporting enthusiasts who also make their way here to enjoy wave-surfing, kite surfing and blokarting.
In recent years, new or restored visitor attractions have attracted even more visitors to the region; the Eden Project is famous for its giant geodesic domes housing exotic plants from different parts of the globe, while nearby the Lost Gardens of Heligan has impressive kitchen gardens and a wildlife hide.
