Overlooking the harbour at Porthleven, this 300-year-old building is home to Kota Restaurant with Rooms - ‘kota’ being the Maori word for ‘shellfish’. New Zealander Jude Kereama brings an Asian-influenced Pacific Rim approach to his menus. Tasting menus provide a rhythmical journey through the courses with subtle interplay of flavours and textures. Mackerel tartare, crab, oyster emulsion and squid ink crisp might lead on to monkfish, kataifi-wrapped monkfish, pollock, kaffir lime leaf and coconut bisque, yuzu and saffron mayo. For dessert, try honey and almond cake, lemon, thyme and honey syrup, goats' cheese sorbet and walnut crumb.
