Our Inspector's view

Tucked away in a peaceful rural location, Lower Keats is a special place, somewhere which ticks along at a different pace, reflected in the mantra here, 'Rest, Relax & Rejuvenate’. Owners Linda and Gary have created the perfect environment for a break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere to engage with nature. Each Safari tent is well equipped with all the necessities required, but also dispensing with 'taken for granted' aspects such as electricity. Each tent has been configured to maximise ease of use, some of which also have hot tubs heated by logs. There is an honesty shop on site with a range of local produce and fridge space also provided, along with facilities to charge electrical items. A pizza oven is also on site – Gary cooks delicious pizzas a couple of nights a week. Being a small holding, opportunities exist for feeding the animals.

About the area

Discover Devon

With magnificent coastlines, two historic cities and the world-famous Dartmoor National Park, Devon sums up all that is best about the British landscape. For centuries it has been a fashionable and much loved holiday destination – especially south Devon’s glorious English Riviera.

Close to the English Riviera lies Dartmoor, one of the south-west’s most spectacular landscapes. The National Park, which contains Dartmoor, covers 365 square miles and includes many fascinating geological features – isolated granite tors and two summits exceeding 2,000 feet among them.

Not surprisingly, in Dartmoor the walking opportunities are enormous. Cycling in the two National Parks is also extremely popular and there is a good choice of off-road routes taking you to the heart of Dartmoor and Exmoor. Devon’s towns and cities offer stimulating alternatives to the rigours of the countryside.
