Outlaw's New Road

“Top drawer fish cooking overlooking the sea.” - AA Inspector
PORT ISAAC, CORNWALL

On the edge of the famous fishing village and with breathtaking ocean views, Outlaw’s New Road occupies an enviable spot. Appealingly understated with wooden floors, piscatorial-inspired artwork, shelves of cookbooks and unclothed tables, there are superb views of the sea and also bar seating with a view straight into the kitchen. The food is simple and unfussy but underpinned by solid technique and experience, as well as strong connections with local fishermen who supply the very best ingredients each day. An elegant starter of cured monkfish and bass, ginger, fennel, spring onion and yogurt might be followed by a first-class piece of bass with a rich velvet crab sauce, potato terrine and hispi cabbage. Chocolate fondant, frozen yogurt, espresso syrup and lime is one of the well orchestrated desserts. The relaxed feel is echoed by the charming front-of-house staff who are never intrusive and genuinely friendly.
