Our View

Visit this 15th-century, stone-built pub in summer and you will be rewarded with flower tubs and creepers enhancing its pretty façade, whilst traditional features inside include a huge open fire. Cornish St Austell beers and Rattler cider are the prime refreshments, while menus proffer carefully sourced British dishes, often featuring local fish and seafood. Choose between four eating areas – five if you include the garden – when ordering your lunchtime snack. Alternatively, in the evening try seared squid, fennel, chorizo and orange, and follow with seafood gratin; or chicken, bacon and mushroom pie, sautéed potatoes and peas.
