Our View
Home of post-war British Modernism, St Ives provides the artistic foundations for Tate St Ives. Opened in 1993, the gallery celebrates the surroundings and atmosphere that inspired the Modernists, on a spectacular spot above Porthmeor Beach. Tate St Ives is the only Tate gallery without a permanent collection, instead, the three seasons of exhibitions each year embrace the best of Modern and Contemporary Art. Please note: Tate St Ives will be closed from October 2015 for the building of an extension. The estimated reopening is Spring 2017. Check their website for confirmation of opening hours.
