The Falcon Inn

“Traditional Cornish village inn with accommodation”
ST MAWGAN, CORNWALL

Our View
You'll find this wisteria-clad, stone-built inn in what is known as both the Vale of Lanherne and the Vale of Mawgan. Built in 1758, or even earlier, it has been The Falcon since about 1880, named after the nearby estate’s coat of arms. Inside, flagstones and log fires; outside a cobbled courtyard and an attractive garden with a magnificent magnolia tree. Rotating real ales are predominantly Cornish, although outsiders do get a look in; there's also a dozen wines by the glass and an impressive range of spirits. Snacks and light meals appear at lunchtime, as do rump steaks; battered fish fillets; and sweet potato and butternut squash ravioli, which are also dinner choices.
