The New Inn

“Sub-tropical splendour and local bounty at the very edge of Britain”
TRESCO, ISLES OF SCILLY

Our View
Just a few steps away from this old inn is the quay at New Grimsby and the first of a string of white-sand beaches that garland this sub-tropical island in the Atlantic. Very much at the heart of Tresco’s community, the pub hosts three ale and cider festivals during the summer months, and live music throughout the year. Visitors from the mainland receive a hearty welcome as they settle at the bar, which is partly created from shipwreck salvage. It lends a rustic maritime ambience entirely suited to the imbibing of ales brewed on St Mary’s. Delicious Scillonian provender from both land and sea are the mainstays of the pub’s menu, which has been awarded an AA Rosette. The ‘surf and turf’ combination of Bryher lobster and chargrilled Tresco beefsteak is a no-brainer, while the savoury delicacy of a Cornish pork and Tresco partridge sausage roll may suffice for the smaller appetite.
