How do I know who has received the accreditation?
Whether it's a day out, a short break, restaurant visit or stay away from home, we can help you find approved places to go that are following national guidelines for COVID safety.
The accreditation shows that businesses have the necessary measures in place for a safe visit. It is open to a wide variety of places, including hotels, B&Bs, self-catering accommodation, restaurants, pubs, camping and glamping parks, holiday parks, visitor attractions and golf courses.

Trusted ratings for your next staycation
The AA has been trusted by the public as a source of hospitality ratings and recommendations for over 112 years. The new COVID Confident assessment scheme has been backed by the hospitality industry, with many high-profile trade bodies supporting the initiative.
A sign of confidence
To ensure businesses are following both government and industry guidelines, a rigorous application process has been put in place.
Hospitality businesses must supply evidence of:
- A COVID-19 risk assessment.
- New and relevant safety procedures.
- Staff training and awareness.
They also complete a self-assessment questionnaire and sign up to the COVID Confident Charter (read more about the charter's pledges). The charter is a code of conduct that will include a commitment to update procedures and measures as guidelines change, and to undertaking to future audits as required.
AA COVID Confident on Rated Trips
Every establishments that is awarded an AA COVID Confident accreditation will be listed on Rated Trips. As the assessment rolls out across the country, every Rated Trips profile page will display the badge alongside any specific COVID measures or services by that establishment.
Members of the public are invited to sign up to the RatedTrips.com newsletter to stay up to date on with the latest COVID travel information. It'll also cover news, travel offers and stories about what's new and exciting in UK food and travel.
Who can apply?
The scheme is free to the entire hospitality industry, with applicants encouraged to make a donation to one of the leading charities in the sector Hospitality Action, which is raising funds to help support hositality workers in crisis.
