Overview
One of the UK’s few inland lighthouses, Withernsea is 38 metres high. In the base are displays on local history, the RNLI and HM Coastguard, as well as a memorial to film actress Kay Kendall, who was born nearby. The lighthouse is no longer in operation, so visitors can climb to the top and enjoy the views. Cafe, gift shop.

Yorkshire’s East Riding is the only one left of a trio of ‘ridings’ which existed up until 1974. The North and West are gone, to be replaced by North, South and West Yorkshires.
