Overview
Museum in the centre of the village covering the history of Mersea Island and the surrounding area. Discover the traditional local activities of fishing, oystering, farming, wild fowling, boat building; holidays, yachting, local families, plus the 2,000-year-old contents of Mersea Barrow. Open May to September with a new main exhibition each year. School and other groups welcomed. Puzzles and quizzes for children.
