Overview
Whisby Natural World Centre is a visitor centre attached to Whisby Nature Park, which is located 5 miles from Lincoln. The park covers 150 hectares of natural habitat and is a partnership between local councils and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. Made up of flooded gravel pits, the park has a wide range of bird life, and six waymarked trails that range from 1.2 to 3 miles. The Centre has a cafe, shop, play areas and a function suite.

About the area
Much of the fenland around the Wash has been drained of its marshes and reclaimed as highly productive farmland. Further north, the coastline, with its sandy beaches, has been developed to accommodate the holiday industry, with caravans, campsites and the usual seaside paraphernalia.
