Overview
Within historic woodland along the River Nidd in Knaresborough is Mother Shipton’s Cave, birthplace of the famous prophetess. It is situated next to the Petrifying Well, England’s oldest visitor attraction. Discover the story of Mother Shipton and the waters which turn objects to stone. The park has several scenic picnic areas, an adventure playground and a gift shop, with cabinets of petrified celebrity curiosities. Dogs are welcome in all areas, apart from the playground and the gift shop (with the exception of guide and assistance dogs). For details of themed family events visit the website.
