Black Swan Inn★★★★
"Always improving to meet the expectations of their guests."
Overview
The Black Swan Inn is steeped in history, having welcomed guests since 1729, including renowned figures such as Charles Dickens. Bedrooms are all very well-appointed and are always kept in excellent condition. The characterful bar showcases an excellent selection of real ales, including some from their own brew house 'Breworks'. Dinner is cooked by the welcoming owners Mr & Mrs Hall, who have crafted a menu of hearty and flavourful classic dishes. Meals can be enjoyed in the inviting restaurant, the bar, or al fresco on the cosy, secluded rear terrace (perfect for relaxed dining in warmer weather).

About the area
North Yorkshire, with its two National Parks and two designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is England’s largest county and one of the most rural. This is prime walking country, from the heather-clad heights of the North York Moors to the limestone country that is so typical of the Yorkshire Dales – a place of contrasts and discoveries, of history and legend.
