VisitEngland renewal FAQs

Let us help you answer any questions you may have about your annual quality assessment scheme renewal.

Thank you for being a member of the VisitEngland Recognition Scheme during the past year. Your annual renewal invoice will be sent shortly to you via e-mail. 

The following should answer any questions you might have, but please do contact us if anything's unclear.


What period does my recognition cover?

Your VisitEngland Recognition covers the period from 1st April 2020 to 31st March 2021.

Your annual invoice will be e-mailed to you in March 2020.


How can I pay annual recognition renewal?

Credit/debit card
You can pay over the phone by calling 01256 338350 – option 1. Please note the telephones will be very busy during the renewal period and if you experience difficulties getting through to us, please use the online portal method.

Payable to 'VisitEngland Assessment Services'.

Please write your invoice number or establishment address and postcode on the reverse of the cheque.

Direct debit
Please download and fill in a Direct Debit mandate – payments will normally be taken in April and October, but a schedule of payments will be sent from Credit Control once the mandate has been set up. If you are already set up as a Direct Debit payer you do not need to fill this form in again.

If you would like to spread your payments in two instalments, simply download the Direct Debit mandate and return it to:

This is a payment method not ‘pay as you go’. The fee is due in full should you leave the scheme during a scheme year – please refer to the terms and conditions.

If you have changed your bank details, please download and fill in a Direct Debit mandate and scan to [email protected] and we will make the change.

What happens if I do not pay?

Unfortunately, we will have to withdraw your establishment from the VisitEngland Recognition scheme.

This will mean that your establishment will no longer feature on

All signage, logos and reference to VisitEngland in any marketing/media channels will have to be removed immediately.

What are the benefits of being a scheme participant for 2020–2021?

What do I do if there has been a change of ownership or I wish to leave?

When will I receive my recognition certificate?

We will be issuing certificates once the invoice for your establishment has been paid. This should follow no more than 6 weeks from payment date.

How can I add on a scheme, such as a Welcome Scheme or Taste Award?

VisitEngland offers the opportunity to existing properties to join additional schemes.

How can I update my listing on

Look out for an email from [email protected] and VisitEngland Assessment Services during March 2020 asking you to sign in and update your details via the Rated Trips portal.
