Buxton Crescent Visitor Experience
Overview
Buxton is a town whose history is shaped by water, and The Buxton Crescent Experience will tell you some of that history and offer a glimpse into the town's Georgian heyday. Within this Grade I listed building you'll meet visitors who've visited the spa to drink and bathe, over the last 10,000 years; rub shoulders with Regency high society at a glamorous ball and be treated by an 18th-century apothecary. The 90-minute experience tour is hosted by a knowledgeable and friendly guide. Groups are limited to a maximum of eight people.

About the area
The natural features of this central English county range from the modest heights of the Peak District National Park, where Kinder Scout stands at 2,088 ft (636 m), to the depths of its remarkable underground caverns, floodlit to reveal exquisite Blue John stone. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the High Peak Trail which extends from the Derwent Valley to the limestone plateau near Buxton, and for many, the spectacular scenery is what draws them to the area.
