Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell’s disastrous loss of 22 ships off the Scilly Isles in 1707 is remembered here in the Karma St Martin's Hotel. The restaurant overlooks the crystal-clear Atlantic – a source of the fresh fish, crab and lobster which feature heavily on the menu. Alternatively, simply order a Cornish pasty picnic and head for the beach.
