For our latest spotlight, we’ve been exploring AA COVID Confident caravan sites which have all been given a five-star seal of approval.
Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park
This peaceful adults-only park can be described as 'a park in a garden', with caravan pitches set amidst lawns, shrubs and trees. There are excellent private facilities including rooms with showers, wash basins and toilets and all are spotlessly clean and well maintained. There is a good woodland walk on the park and a stylish fully equipped lodge is available for hire. Wi-Fi is available throughout the site and there is a free internet workstation. This site is well situated for visiting Bath, Bristol, Wells, Cheddar and Wookey Hole and for walking in the Mendip Hills. Chew Valley Lake, noted for its top-quality fishing, is close by.
Donkey Creek Farm Caravan Park
This site is situated on the southern outskirts of Freckleton, Lancashire, less than a mile from the village centre and within walking distance of the River Ribble. Donkey Creek Farm Caravan Park is owned and run by a family who have been in the caravan and park home industry for over 60 years, and they thrive in making sure that your holiday lives up to your expectations. There is a shop located in the reception area which sells caravan accessories and essentials making your holiday easier. You can also hire outside games, BBQ’s, fire pits, books and DVD’s, subject to availability.
Minnows Touring Park
This is a small, well-sheltered park, peacefully located amidst fields and mature trees. The refurbished toilet facilities are of a high quality in keeping with the rest of the park and there is a good laundry. This park has direct gated access to the canal towpath. A brisk 20-minute walk leads to a choice of pubs and a farm shop with the bus stop being just 15 minutes away. All pitches are hardstanding with some large enough for American RVs. Fully serviced pitches are also available on this AA 5 Gold Pennant site.
Eye Kettleby Lakes
This AA 5 Gold Pennant site is a haven for lovers of coarse fishing and walking this long-established leisure destination, located in the hamlet of Eye Kettleby, provides very high standards. There are eight fishing lakes as well as designated walking areas and accommodation located in lodges, a glamping forest and touring fields. Touring pitches are fully serviced and divided by mature hedges to provide optimum privacy. The top-notch amenity blocks provide excellent standards in respect of fittings and privacy. A large Scandinavian log building houses a reception, shop, café and clubhouse where regular entertainment is provided.
This is an attractive and very well managed adults-only park with the AA 5 Gold Pennant accolade in a rural area within Dartmoor National Park. This site is surrounded by woodland and farmland and is very peaceful. The toilet block offers superb facilities, including four fully serviced cubicles, some of which are suitable for disabled visitors. There are also two glamping pods for hire. Guests can expect high levels of customer care.
Exe Valley Caravan Site
Set in the Exmoor National Park, this AA 5 Gold Pennant adults-only park occupies an enchanting, peaceful spot in a wooded valley alongside the River Exe. There is free fly-fishing, an abundance of wildlife and excellent walks leading directly from the park. The site has good, spotlessly clean facilities. The inn opposite serves meals at lunchtime and in the evening.
