Merrivale Model Village

Recommended by Visit England Logo
Overview
Merrivale Model Village offers an altogether different experience. Set in more than an acre of attractive landscaped gardens, complete with winding pathways, streams and waterfalls, and even a lake full of koi carp, this mini village is delightful. As you wander leisurely among its tiny houses it’s hard to believe you are so close to the bustle of central Yarmouth. The village is built on a scale of 1:12. Among the models are a working fairground, a stone quarry, houses, shops and a garden railway. The Penny Arcade gives you the chance to play old amusements, while a traditional tea room provides a welcome break.

About the area
The North Norfolk Coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and probably the finest of its kind in Europe. Here you’ll find a string of quaint villages and small towns – Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cley next the Sea are 21st-century favourites, while Sheringham and Cromer are classic examples of a good old-fashioned seaside resort where grand Victorian hotels look out to sea.
