It’s hardly new – built in 1939 – but the Hull New Theatre is certainly one of the best regional theatres in the country, with a varied programme of music, opera, ballet, drama and children’s shows throughout the year. The annual Christmas pantomime is a legend in itself.
About the area
Yorkshire’s East Riding is the only one left of a trio of ‘ridings’ which existed up until 1974. The North and West are gone, to be replaced by North, South and West Yorkshires.
