This is a rare and well-preserved example of a Norman house. Some interesting Norman architectural features can still be seen, including the vaulted undercroft, but the building was remodelled and encased in brick during the 17th and 18th centuries, giving it a rather forbidding appearance. The house is next door to Burton Agnes Hall.
