Overview
Hopetoun House at South Queensferry is just a short drive from Edinburgh and has all the ingredients for a great day out. Whether it is a leisurely stroll, afternoon tea or a touch of nostalgia, Hopetoun fits the bill. Built around 300 years ago, it is a delight to wander the corridors and historical rooms of one of the most splendid examples of the work of Scottish architects Sir William Bruce and William Adam. It shows some of the finest examples in Scotland of carving, wainscoting and ceiling painting. With 100 acres of parkland including a deer park, the gardens are a colourful carpet of seasonal flowers.
