Overview
The Hill House is a handsome example of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's work, modern yet part-inspired by Scottish tower houses. It was commissioned by the publisher Walter Blackie, who moved in in 1904. The gardens are being restored to Blackie's design, with features reflecting the suggestions of Mackintosh. There is also a special display about Mackintosh.
