Recommended by Visit England Logo
Overview
Wilderhope Manor is a beautiful Elizabethan manor house that was restored by John Cadbury in 1936. Even though the interiors are unfurnished, the architecture and charm of the manor are still a sight to behold. Surrounding farmland managed for landscape and wildlife has permissive access. Wilderhope Manor is run by the Youth Hostel Association so there may be limited access to some rooms.
Location
LONGVILLE IN THE DALE, TF13 6EG
About the area
Perhaps nowhere else in England will you find a county so deeply rural and with so much variety as Shropshire. Choose a clear day, climb to the top of The Wrekin, and look down on that ‘land of lost content’ so wistfully evoked by A E Housman.
