Cadhay
Overview
Cadhay is a charming Tudor mansion which has been beautifully restored over the last ten or so years, by the current owner, Rupert Thistlethwayte. At its centre is the Court of the Sovereigns, overlooked by four carved images of the Tudor monarchs. Upstairs is the Long Gallery, added during the reign of Elizabeth I, and now serving as a family museum. The gardens are a mix of formal and informal, and include a lime tree avenue and medieval fish ponds. Opening times are limited as the house is also self-catering accommodation. The house can be seen by guided tour only.
