Magna Science Adventure Centre
Overview
Magna has brought the cavernous former Templeborough steelworks back to life. There are four pavilions where you can have fun exploring the elements – earth, air, fire and water. It’s the ultimate interactive experience – you can have fun firing a giant water cannon, launch rockets, board an airship and spin in a gyroscopic chair, see lightning bolts, explode rock faces and work real JCBs. The outdoor playgrounds of Sci-Tek and Aqua-Tek are a must for children. Top tip – if you’re going to get properly stuck in, then expect to get wet and bring some dry clothing.

About the area
Traditionally a steel and coal producing centre, the decline of both industries in South Yorkshire has been replaced to some extent by tourism based around the area’s beautiful Pennine countryside. The county claims part of the Peak District National Park, whose hills and dales provide welcome space for the large urban populations.
