Overview
Full of interactive technology that will keep the whole family occupied for hours, the Time and Tide is an award-winning museum housed in a restored Grade II listed Victorian herring-curing factory. It’s one of the best preserved such factories from the period. The museum tells Great Yarmouth’s fascinating story, from prehistoric times right through to the present day. You can visit the original smokehouse and see displays about fishing, wrecks and rescue, seaside holidays, port and trade, and the world wars. About the area
The North Norfolk Coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and probably the finest of its kind in Europe. Here you’ll find a string of quaint villages and small towns – Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cley next the Sea are 21st-century favourites, while Sheringham and Cromer are classic examples of a good old-fashioned seaside resort where grand Victorian hotels look out to sea.
