Robin Hood's Bay and Fylingdales Museum
Overview
Located in an old cottage that once served as the district coroner’s office, this is a gem of a museum, stuffed full of treasures and tales about the village and the life of the hardy men and women who lived along this coastline. The stories of shipwrecks and rescues that affected this tight little community are particularly poignant.

About the area
North Yorkshire, with its two National Parks and two designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is England’s largest county and one of the most rural. This is prime walking country, from the heather-clad heights of the North York Moors to the limestone country that is so typical of the Yorkshire Dales – a place of contrasts and discoveries, of history and legend.
