Last of the Summer Wine Exhibition

Recommended by Visit England Logo
Overview
In Compo’s house you will find not only his disreputable sleeping garments hanging up, but other fascinating props, including a rather large inflatable lady. The main display room is a real treasure trove of Summer Wine memories, appealing not only to dedicated Summer Wine fans but to just about anyone, and all age groups. The exhibition entrance has been changed to make it easier for visitors to access. Go past the wellies and up the staircase. The Wrinkled Stocking tea rooms are adjacent to Compo and Nora Batty’s houses.

About the area
Everybody knows that Yorkshire has some special landscapes. The Dales and the Moors first spring to mind, but what about West Yorkshire? That’s Leeds and Bradford isn’t it? Back-to-back houses and blackened mills… Certainly if you had stood on any of the hills surrounding Hebden Bridge a hundred years ago, and gazed down into the valley, all you would have seen was the pall of smoke issuing from the chimneys of 33 textile mills.
