"Skilfully cooked food in a beguiling setting."
Overview
Originally built in Paris for the 1878 International Exhibition, dismantled, shipped across the Channel and reassembled flat-pack-style, the beautiful half-timbered faux-Tudor Paris House Restaurant is a striking sight. Of course, anticipation and expectation are sky high after you enter via the grand gateway, through lush green fields across the spreading expanses of Woburn Estate and the Duke of Bedford’s 22-acre deer park. Inside, you’re firmly back in the 21st century with chic, refined contemporary styling, complete with modern light fittings, sleek furniture and a wall of seasonal food-related artworks. This is the classy setting for chef-patron Phil Fanning’s innovative modern British fusion cooking, which is driven by prime ingredients, kicking off with delightful canapés and artisan breads to get the tastebuds standing to attention, then it’s onwards with an array of seasonal tasting menus tailored to the gamut of modern dietary requirements. About the area
At its most southern point, Bedfordshire is only 35 miles from London Waterloo, so there’s a good reason for the UK’s fifth busiest airport to be called London Luton Airport. The county is one of England’s smaller in terms of area, but more than makes up for it in terms of business HQs and visitor attractions
