"Revelatory cooking in the heart of Norwich."
Overview
Benedicts is a switched-on operation where pared-back, Scandi-chic looks tick all the boxes of a big-city venue and make a suitably modernist setting for chef-patron Richard Bainbridge’s innovative, contemporary cooking. Diners can be assured of exciting 21st-century food with stimulating combinations of excellent materials such as Norfolk wood pigeon en croȗte, wild garlic, rhubarb, Norwich honey carrot and Angostura Bitters jus; or Cromer crab, white asparagus, grapefruit, ajoblanco. To finish, perhaps roasted apricots, pistachio crème brȗlee, raspberries and Hunstanton lavender. As well as regularly changing tasting options, pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan menus and a lunch menu are offered too.

About the area
The North Norfolk Coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and probably the finest of its kind in Europe. Here you’ll find a string of quaint villages and small towns – Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cley next the Sea are 21st-century favourites, while Sheringham and Cromer are classic examples of a good old-fashioned seaside resort where grand Victorian hotels look out to sea
