The Ninth
"Pedigree cooking in cool Fitzrovia favourite."
Overview
With its pavement terrace spilling onto the Charlotte Steet foodie strip, The Ninth is an enticing spot for chef-patron Jun Tanaka’s French- and Italian-inspired dishes that are all about big, gutsy flavours. Spread across two floors, the decor works a stripped-back cool look, with exposed brick walls and bistro-style marble tables, and a casual neighbourhood vibe. Underpinned by sound classic technique, dishes are bursting with refined simplicity and flavour. Sea bream carpaccio with rhubarb, pickled kohlrabi and lemon dressing is bursting with zippy flavours to start, then roast hake comes with herb butter, cannellini bean purée and chicory.
