Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall
"Vibrant modern dishes in historic house."
Overview
Now a luxurious hotel and spa after a megabuck’s makeover, the stunning Grantley Hall is a wonderful fusion of new and old with the original hall dating back to the 17th century. Shaun Rankin’s set-up amid its Palladian splendour is unlikely to disappoint with cooking of serious quality and distinction in opulent surroundings – think gold chandeliers, starched white tablecloths and napkins, and dinky tables for ladies’ designer handbags. Ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible including vegetables and herbs from Grantley’s own kitchen garden. The cooking spotlights the quality of the local produce, the dishes are detailed and cleverly thought-through and the memorably superb ingredients are just what you’d expect from such a ‘special occasion’ restaurant.
