Jordans MillQuality Assessed
Overview
The gardens of the mill best known for its breakfast bars and cereals, Jordans Mill Gardens showcase a number of farming and growing best practices. Crops, vegetables and fruits grow alongside wild flowers and cultivated garden plants in an ornamental setting. Cereals such as oats, rye, wheat and barley are grow in rotation with staples like onions, potatoes and cabbages. Hedges of predominantly yew divide the garden into different areas, while the perimeter hedges are hornbeam and a native hedge mixture. In the herb garden three old pear trees have been underplanted with lavender, edged by hybrid germander. The meadow is being established on poor soil that regularly gets flooded, so plants tolerant of wet soil have been chosen, along with species that provide winter food for birds. A trip to the wonderful Riverside Café rounds off your visit perfectly.

About the area
At its most southern point, Bedfordshire is only 35 miles from London Waterloo, so there’s a good reason for the UK’s fifth busiest airport to be called London Luton Airport. The county is one of England’s smaller in terms of area, but more than makes up for it in terms of business HQs and visitor attractions.
