Overview
Enter the discreet push-button door and a greeting is called in the best tradition of Japanese hospitality. There’s no questioning the seductive stylishness here, from the calm interior of wood screens to the subdued lighting. The sparkling freshness of ingredients and precision knife-work of chefs in the open kitchen is matched by super-helpful, well-informed service. Inspired by kaiseki – Japanese haute cuisine – and firmly anchored in time-honoured techniques, meticulous dish preparation is a hallmark of first-grade sashimi including tuna, seabass, prawn, scallop and turbot served with wasabi, radish and soy, while wild Cornish lobster is a winner with homemade shichimi pepper sauce and tofu miso bisque.
