Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite★★★★
"Farm diversification at it's best – pods, huts, touring and lakeside café."
Overview
Dedication to provide high quality camping continues at this working farm set in attractive surroundings on the edge of the quiet village of Barns Green. There are two touring areas – one with fully serviced hardstanding pitches, and a stunning modern toilet block, the other has excellent pitches on the banks of one of the well-stocked fishing lakes. For a glamping holiday there are wooden pods, an impressive, fully-equipped safari tent, lodges, shepherd's huts, bell tents and two luxury cabins; all enjoy a fabulous lakeside setting. A secluded family-only field (with hook-ups and fire pits) is located close to woodland and a lake. There are many cycle paths and two dog-walking fields on site and the woodland walk has direct access to miles of footpaths. The excellent Café by the Lake has alfresco seating on a waterside pontoon and serves meals from breakfast onwards. Horsham and Brighton are within easy reach.

About the area
Divided from East Sussex back in 1888, West Sussex has a variety of landscapes and coastal scenery, but it is the spacious and open South Downs with which the county is most closely associated. There are plenty of walking routes in the South Downs National Park, cycling routes by the sea or visitors can explore the pretty town of Arundel with its historic castle and buildings.
