Walk directions

From the car park, pass under the Border Oak building. In 27yds (25m) turn left on a track just before ‘Lime Avenue’. At a fork, take left path and keep six very tall, straight Redwood trees on left before turning half-left to find a track beyond the Redwood Grove. Cross a ditch to fork left. Turn left onto a wider path and in 11yds (10m) left again. Continue for 328yds (300m) and at a 4-way junction, turn left. Walk for 0.25 miles (400m), ignoring a crossing path after 328yds (300m), to turn left and follow the well-trodden path round until it meets with another to rise uphill. At a 5-way junction (with a bench), take the 3rd right uphill. In 328yds (300m) turn to a clump of pines and within 33yds (30m) right to a viewpoint. Here, on a clear day, you can see towards the Malvern Hills, Ledbury, Orcop Hill and the Black Mountains.

From the viewpoint, take the widest path uphill and at a junction with a stone to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, take 2nd left to a clearing and a sign, ‘Oak Avenue’. Leaving the sign behind, walk up between the avenue of trees for 50yds (45m) and take the path on left. Continue round, ignoring a turning to the left, and at a junction with a rusty gate, turn right. In 219yds (200m) turn left to pass through the ‘Autumn Garden’. Beyond the garden turn onto a tarmac drive and follow this to the right for approximately 328yds (300m), keeping forestry buildings on right. Cross the main road (with extreme care) to a bridleway opposite.
