Overview
On the outskirts of Colchester, The Three Horseshoes is family-run country pub and restaurant with oak floors, gnarly beams, a fabulous inglenook and a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for summer days, the secluded garden and terrace look over the church, and service is informal and knowledgeable. Head chef Josh Dawson’s menus follow the seasons, bringing together top-notch materials in intuitive combinations, starting with chicken liver parfait alongside pistachio, rhubarb, linseed, sorrel and freshly baked brioche. Next up, succulent Dedham Vale beef fillet with burnt aubergine, potato dauphinoise and rich beefy jus is right on the money.
