Bower Inn★★★★
"A charming and friendly inn on the edge of the Cotswolds."
Overview
The Bower Inn is a charming inn which dates back to the 18th century. Located on the edge of the Somerset levels and within easy reach of the M5, hence a great place to stop off for some rest and relaxation. Bedrooms are elegantly styled and many are also dog friendly. The pub itself is very welcoming with lovely wood burner providing warmth during colder winter evenings. The menu offers an exciting range of dishes, seasonally based and making use of local produce as much as possible. Breakfast is also a treat! In the summer months, the large courtyard beer garden is a popular spot to soak up the sun with a refreshing tipple of choice.

About the area
Somerset remains rural and unspoiled, and ever popular areas to visit are the limestone and red sandstone Mendip Hills rising to over 1,000 feet, and by complete contrast, to the south and southwest, the flat landscape of the Somerset Levels. Another popular spot, the Quantocks, once the haunt of poets Coleridge and Wordsworth, are noted for their gentle slopes, heather-covered moorland expanses and red deer.
