Overview
Occupying the Mayfair address that was formerly home to Le Gavroche, Bonheur by Matt Abé makes quite a statement in London’s dining scene. A glossy makeover in shades of beige and rose dresses the space with a smartly elegant look that exudes confidence and sets a suitable tone for Abé to express his own culinary style. With a stellar background in the Gordon Ramsay empire, expectations are naturally high, and the cooking keeps to a classic French base of peerless ingredients put together in perfect harmony. Exceptional quality Cornish turbot is matched with pickled and puréed celeriac, lobster mousse and tarragon hollandaise, while Aynhoe Park fallow deer is supported by beetroot purée, pine and sweet pickled blackberry.
