"Well known for the excellent Thai food"
Overview
Opposite the village common, this country free house serves authentic Thai food, wine and beers – but if you prefer you can opt for English bar snacks, including a wide selection of sandwiches, paninis and salads – and traditional ales. Thai food devotees will be spoilt for choice – the extensive menu features soups, salads and curries such as beef in coconut milk and bamboo shoots. For vegetarians the choice includes mushroom soup flavoured with lemongrass, lime leaves and chillies, perhaps followed by fried broccoli with garlic and oyster sauce. There’s a small shop selling Thai ingredients and handicrafts, and the pub is an important part of the community, with regular events including darts competitions, quizzes, monthly music nights and charity/beer festivals.

About the area
Divided from East Sussex back in 1888, West Sussex has a variety of landscapes and coastal scenery, but it is the spacious and open South Downs with which the county is most closely associated. There are plenty of walking routes in the South Downs National Park, cycling routes by the sea or visitors can explore the pretty town of Arundel with its historic castle and buildings.
