"A pub with it all, near glorious coastline"
Overview
A lane to Rhossili Bay’s magnificent beach starts just along from this 17th-century village inn, which still displays plenty of old beams, exposed stonework and a large open fire. The bar serves a weekly rotating schedule of real ales from the Gower Brewery, which pub landlord Chris Stevens co-founded. Expect much praised home-made food using local produce that includes Vietnamese, Goan and Thai curries; pizzas; gourmet burgers; Glamorgan sausages and faggots. Comfortable and stylish accommodation is available. A beer and cider festival is held during the last weekend of October.

About the area
There’s no getting away from it – when it comes to image, Swansea is a bit of a mixed bag. During its heyday in the 19th century, as king of the copper industry, it was known as ‘Copperopolis’.
