The Slaughters Manor House

"Modern British dishes with a lightness of touch."
Overview
With its well-manicured grounds and croquet lawn, The Slaughters Manor House may date from the 17th century but the hotel provides a stylish and contemporary interpretation of country house living. A contrast to the older parts of this golden Cotswold stone building, the elegant and uncluttered modern dining room is light and spacious. Dishes are beautifully presented and finely tuned expressions of flavour and texture, maybe starting with a delicately flavoured seaweed-cured chalk stream trout, potato mousse and trout caviar, smoked trout and dill. Then perhaps move on to Cornish halibut, crevette mousse, grilled gem lettuce and roasted prawn sauce.

About the area
Gloucestershire is home to a variety of landscapes, including the Cotswolds, a region of gentle hills, valleys and gem-like villages that roll through the county. To their west is the Severn Plain, watered by Britain’s longest river and characterised by orchards and farms marked out by hedgerows that blaze with mayflower in the spring; beyond the Severn are the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley
