"Tantalising modern cooking in a historic manor house."
Overview
Dating from 1649, the wonderfully welcoming Lords of the Manor house hotel is set in eight acres of immaculate lawns and magnificent gardens and surrounded by beautiful Cotswold countryside. A honey-coloured stone building, it is packed with character and the relaxed atmosphere is underpinned by the professional and attentive service that has become the hallmark here. The small and formal fine dining Atrium Restaurant offers a modern British tasting menu, using local suppliers where possible, including a hand-salted cultured Jersey herd butter made right on the hotel’s doorstep by a local artisan. The tasting menu might kick off with canapés followed by a fresh and flavoursome dish of Cornish crab, fennel, Buddha’s hand fruit and Oscietra caviar. Show more

About the area
Gloucestershire is home to a variety of landscapes, including the Cotswolds, a region of gentle hills, valleys and gem-like villages that roll through the county. To their west is the Severn Plain, watered by Britain’s longest river and characterised by orchards and farms marked out by hedgerows that blaze with mayflower in the spring; beyond the Severn are the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley
