The Clove Club
"Fashionable Shoreditch setting for tip-top tasting menus."
Overview
Housed in the grand Victorian former town hall, The Clove Club revels in its trendy Shoreditch location and cool, relaxed fine-dining credentials. Inside, it’s an understated, high-ceilinged space with a blue-tiled open kitchen to draw the eye and add a frisson of culinary theatre. Service is fittingly unstuffy and friendly, while Isaac McHale’s tasting menus – long and short versions – come bursting with avant-garde ideas, surprise and top-flight technical skill. Start with hazelwood-grilled maitake with hazelnut and Périgord truffle, followed by Middlewhite pork with Swiss chard, agro dolce and wild garlic, then an off-the-wall dessert of warm potato mousse with caramel ice cream and coffee.
